The 2022 Grand National is coming up later this spring as horse-racing fans get set for the biggest day on the calendar.


Blackmore became the first female Jockey to win the Grand National while Henry de Bromhead won the race as a trainer for the first time.

Grand National 2022: Date and start time


The flagship race takes place on Saturday, April 9.

It will get under way at 5.15pm with 40 horses entered to run.

A UK handicap steeplechase, it is run over two laps totalling four miles and 514 yards with 30 fences. The Grand National course has much larger fences than normal.

The Chair, Valentine’s Brook, Foinavon, Becher’s Brook and the Canal Turn are just some of the famous fences that runners and riders need to navigate in the race.
